I have been blogging now for just over a year. It is exactly a year ago that I posted this recipe – Hanna-tädin kakut. Wishing you all a sweet year in more ways than one!

AuntHanna's

My mother used to make these. So for me they are a taste of childhood. My mother used to bake them when whipping cream (2 dl) had gone sour. Well, I didn’t have sour whipping cream and I was impatient. I made these with sour cream – smetana as we call it. My mother used baking soda in her cookies. Some people like to use baking powder (1 1/2 – 2 tsp) or a combination of both. They are nice small. I made 6 x 12 = 72. Yes, baking can be practical maths. You need to watch them as they bake, if you don’t want rock cakes.  Only really the base needs a bit of colour.
