In Scandinavian countries Sankta Lucia is celebrated today. Because of corona the processions will not be organized, but people are encouraged to watch part of the celebration on TV. A local girl will be selected as Lucia. She will wear a white gown and a crown of candles placed on a green leaf wreath on her head. Her waist will be decorated with a bright red sash. Lucia will be accompanied by similarly dressed maids, who all sing the Neapolitan song Santa Lucia.
Here is your chance to be taken back some years to Uddevalla in Western Sweden. Listen to Barnaby Allen read his own text from Pacific Viking: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BlRdFHuXpXw
